MHSA reimbursement, helpful facts

I have been getting many questions regarding MHSA, what is reimbursable and when. So, I thought it would be helpful to create a short BLOG with links to important documents that may answer your questions and some additional info. from LADMH’s Karen Bollow who manages this process for you, kbollow@dmh.lacounty.gov, 213-251-6414

• The MHSA Guideline documents are found here. Please be sure your staff managing your EHR-S project and the staff completing the MHSA reimbursement application are very familiar with these. http://www.dmh.ca.gov/DMHDocs/2008_Notices.asp listed under "0809".
  
• There is a MHSA Q&A document on the CPTP website. This is a consolidated document containing MHSA questions from all meetings since the beginning of the year. The link is:

  Note: There is no blanket statement here on reimbursement for maintenance payments. (See responses in the Q&A).

The following four actions are required prior to any reimbursement for MHSA expenditures:

1. State DMH approves the County MHSA IT plan
   
2. Board of Supervisors accepts the State approved MHSA IT funds
   
3. CIOB approves the Contract Agency Project Proposal Request
   
4. DMH and Contract Agency fully execute a new DMH funding agreement contract

Note: There is no reimbursement for any expense incurred prior to these actions.
